Vodice is a little town situated in the county Šibensko-kninska, with about 7000 inhabitants. The town includes also the settlements Grabovac, Čista Velika, Čista Mala, Prvić Šepurine, Prvić Luka, Srima and Gaćeleze. The town is situated at the Croatian Adriatic coast, north from the town Šibenik and south from the island Murter. Vodice is the most famous for being the centre of Croatian tourism, but it is also famous for hosting the CMC festival in June. Tourism is the most important branch of economy at this area. Most of the people here live from tourism – they either work in tourism or in some activities closely connected to tourism. In the last ten years tourism has developed in a very positive direction, with the increase in incomes, the number of visits and overnight stays. The most important hotels in the town area with 3 or 4 stars are: Hotel Punta, Hotel Olimpija and Hotel Imperijal. Alongside the promenade in Vodice there are many bars and restaurants. One of the most famous festivities on the Croatian Adriatic coast – Vodička fešta – is held right here at this promenade. The most famous place for young people who want to have fun in beautiful summer nights is disco club Hacienda. Town Vodice has very good traffic connection. It is situated on the Adriatic highway (D8) which connects Zadar- Šibenik-Split-Dubrovnik. Toll station Pirovac is only 20 km far from the entrance to the motorway (A1). Vodice offers great possibilities for enjoying the nautical tourism with its ACI Marina Vodice. The closest airports are Zadar Airport (Zemunik) and Split Airport (Kaštel Štafilić).
