Šibenik is located 70 km south of the city of Zadar, and 80 km north of the city of Split.

It is connected by the Adriatic highway, highway, railway and track.

The landscape of the city of Šibenik is very diverse, while its greatest asset is

Two large national parks, Krka and Kornati, and a small part of the Vrana Lake nature park contribute to its special significance.

Although the city of Šibenik is enriched by its landscape, its population is falling. About 46,332 inhabitants live in the 957-year-old city. For the first time, the town of Šibenik was mentioned on Christmas Day in 1066 in the grant document of Petar Krešimir IV, hence the name "Krešimir's Town". The fact that Šibenik was the capital of Croatia from December 1944 to May 1945 can be dated from that time.

The port of Šibenik had an important influence on the economic development of the city of Šibenik, during the Austro-Hungarian rule it was the third most important port. The city with its port played an extremely important role in urban and port environments in terms of socio-economic integration.

The port of Šibenik was the main center for the supply of Dalmatia in the production of oil, later also in the production of shipping, while on the Balkan side it was the main center for the production of grain through the Bosnian provenance.

During the Second World War, Šibenik and its port were heavily damaged from the air at the end of 1943 and the beginning of 1944. Then the port was almost completely destroyed, and today the port of Šibenik bears the name "Gateway to Central Europe" and is the holder of the primary concession for carrying out port activities.

Based on the contract on the primary concession, Luka Šibenik d.o.o. performs port activities at three specialized terminals.

Tourism in the city of Šibenik has recently been developing and the number of foreign guests is growing year by year. What attracts such guests is the unreal and untouched nature and the beauty of that landscape. The city of Šibenik is bathed in the sun for 210 days in one year, its statistics show that foreign tourists mostly stay in the hotel complex Solaris, as well as in the towns of Vodice, Primošten, Rogoznica, a few kilometers away, but also on the islands of Zlarin, Prvić or Murter.

The port of Sibenik was the main supply center for Dalmatia in the production of oil, later also in the production of shipping, while on the Balkan side it was the main one in the production of grain through Bosnian provenance. Two of them are protected UNESCO monuments. The fortress of St. Nicholas, which is located at the very entrance to the canal of St. Ante, is a unique Renaissance building of Venetian portification architecture and an exceptional monument of world architectural heritage. This renaissance is special in that it was built on a separate islet of Ljuljevac on the site of the former Benedictine monastery of St. Nicholas, after which it was named. And the second equally important one is the Cathedral of St. James, which is one of the most significant and beautiful architectural achievements in the Republic of Croatia. It was built over a hundred years during the 15th and 16th centuries, and is special in that its structure is completely made of stone.

The center itself as a society pays special attention to wounded, sick and starving birds.

Trg Republike Hrvatske is the most important public space of the Šibenik rebellion. For centuries, this square was the center of public social life, surrounded by the cathedral of St. Jakov, Velika and Mala Loža. In its immediate vicinity there is also the duke's palace. Special attention is drawn to the square with the four wells, which got its name because of the four wells of the crown with which water was extracted from the cisterns. Since the city of Šibenik was constantly short of water during the Venetian administration, this well was created just then. The Great Lodge was built in the Renaissance style between 1534 and 1542. year, and in December 1943, during the allied aerial bombardment, it was completely destroyed and was restored after the war. Judicial affairs were conducted in the Great Lodge, and it also served as a detention center. The Duke's Palace is located on the coast in the immediate vicinity of the old city center, it is the center of the city administration office and the place where the city council met.
